First marathon shirt split into eight spots sold by bid or fixed price
Timo, who had not run a marathon before, offered eight places on the shirt he will wear through six months of training and a race on Lake Garda in April 2027. Each place had an opening bid and a fixed buy price, and two were free for community products. The ten day auction ended on 2 October with a single €29 bid from Rolino, and no place had been paid outright by 8 October, with a €2,500 minimum due by 30 October.

Lessons
- Pairing an opening bid with a fixed buy price lets a sponsor choose between waiting and paying to be certain.
- A minimum total with refunds if it is missed protects early buyers, but it also means a thin auction can cancel the whole shirt.
- Promising a fixed count of photos, clips and posts over months gives sponsors something concrete to price.
