Advertise on my newsletter.

People who open your newsletter chose to get it in their inbox. That makes the top slot one of the easiest spots to sell. Screenshot an issue, pin the spots, get your price and list it. Brands find it and ask for a spot.

How to monetize your newsletter

  1. List it. Upload a photo of your newsletter, mark each spot and pick how you bill: per week, month, event or post. We set the price from reach, market and demand.
  2. Get requests. Brands find it in Browse and message you. Accept or decline.
  3. Get paid. The brand pays when you accept. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up.
  4. Or run an auction. Share a link and let brands bid. Start a newsletter auction.

Tips

  • Say who reads the newsletter in plain words, like freelance designers in Lagos. Sponsors buy the audience, not the list size.
  • Sell a spot for a number of issues, not open ended, so the end of the deal is clear.
  • Label sponsored blocks clearly. Readers trust you more and it keeps you on the right side of FTC rules.

Questions

How small can my list be?

There is no minimum. A small list in a clear niche can still interest a brand. We price it for your list size, and demand moves it up.

What happens if a brand takes over the top slot mid run?

From the next issue, the new sponsor goes in the slot. The outgoing brand is not charged if they no longer hold it when bidding closes.

Should I share open rates?

You can, if they are accurate and from your email tool. Never round them up or guess.

How do brands find my newsletter?

List it once. Brands browse spots by type, city and price and message you through SponsorMySpot. Your email stays private.

Who sets the price?

Our pricing engine, like a ride app. It prices each spot from what it is, how many people see it and the market you are in, and the price rises when brands are asking for that kind of spot near you. Owners pick how they bill: per week, month, event or post.

When do I get paid?

The brand pays when you accept their request. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up. Payouts go to your bank through Stripe. The fee is 8 percent.

Can brands bid against each other instead?

Yes. Run an auction: each spot opens at your start price and any brand can take it by paying double. Cards are held, not charged, until bidding closes.
