How to monetize your surfboard
- List it. Upload a photo of your surfboard, mark each spot and pick how you bill: per week, month, event or post. We set the price from reach, market and demand.
- Get requests. Brands find it in Browse and message you. Accept or decline.
- Get paid. The brand pays when you accept. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up.
- Or run an auction. Share a link and let brands bid. Start a surfboard auction.
Get paid to put ads on your surfboard
Post dated photos of the board and suit, plus a surfing photo or clip where the logo can be read.
Tips
- Stickers on the deck must go under the wax or the board turns slippery, so plan where wax goes.
- If you enter contests, read the event rules on sponsor logos before you sell.
- Name your break. A shop near that beach will pay more than a brand far away.
Questions
Can I put a sticker under the wax?
Yes. Most surfers do. Use thin vinyl and wax over it.
What counts as proof if I surf alone?
A dated photo on the beach plus a clip from a phone on a tripod or a friend works.
Do contest rules limit logos?
Some do. Amateur events can restrict size or ban certain brands, so check first.
How do brands find my surfboard?
List it once. Brands browse spots by type, city and price and message you through SponsorMySpot. Your email stays private.
Who sets the price?
Our pricing engine, like a ride app. It prices each spot from what it is, how many people see it and the market you are in, and the price rises when brands are asking for that kind of spot near you. Owners pick how they bill: per week, month, event or post.
When do I get paid?
The brand pays when you accept their request. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up. Payouts go to your bank through Stripe. The fee is 8 percent.
Can brands bid against each other instead?
Yes. Run an auction: each spot opens at your start price and any brand can take it by paying double. Cards are held, not charged, until bidding closes.
