How to monetize your camera

  1. List it. Upload a photo of your camera, mark each spot and pick how you bill: per week, month, event or post. We set the price from reach, market and demand.
  2. Get requests. Brands find it in Browse and message you. Accept or decline.
  3. Get paid. The brand pays when you accept. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up.
  4. Or run an auction. Share a link and let brands bid. Start a camera auction.

Get paid to put ads on your camera

Post a dated photo of the camera and strap, plus links to BTS clips where the gear or watermark shows. Event photos with you in frame also work.

Tips

  • Never cover the sensor port, hot shoe, vents or dials. Small stickers only, on flat parts of the body.
  • Ask clients before showing a sponsor on a paid job. A wedding couple may not want a logo near their day.
  • Keep the watermark off client photos. It belongs on your own BTS and portfolio videos only.

Questions

Will stickers void my camera warranty?

Stickers on the outside do not usually void a warranty, but leave serial labels clear and use residue free vinyl.

Can I put a sponsor logo on client photos?

No, not without the client's written agreement. Clients own the use of those images under your contract.

Do I disclose a sponsored strap?

If you post content that shows it because you were paid, yes. Use #ad or the platform's paid partnership tag.

How do brands find my camera?

List it once. Brands browse spots by type, city and price and message you through SponsorMySpot. Your email stays private.

Who sets the price?

Our pricing engine, like a ride app. It prices each spot from what it is, how many people see it and the market you are in, and the price rises when brands are asking for that kind of spot near you. Owners pick how they bill: per week, month, event or post.

When do I get paid?

The brand pays when you accept their request. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up. Payouts go to your bank through Stripe. The fee is 8 percent.

Can brands bid against each other instead?

Yes. Run an auction: each spot opens at your start price and any brand can take it by paying double. Cards are held, not charged, until bidding closes.
