Advertise on my mobile app.

Ad SDKs in a mobile app pay per impression and can make the app feel cheap. A single sponsor spot you control is cleaner. Screenshot your app, pin the spots, get your price and list it. Brands find it and ask for a spot.

How to monetize your mobile app

  1. List it. Upload a photo of your mobile app, mark each spot and pick how you bill: per week, month, event or post. We set the price from reach, market and demand.
  2. Get requests. Brands find it in Browse and message you. Accept or decline.
  3. Get paid. The brand pays when you accept. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up.
  4. Or run an auction. Share a link and let brands bid. Start a mobile app auction.

Get paid to put ads on your mobile app

Post dated screenshots from the live app on a real device and the app version or build that included the placement.

Tips

  • Read the App Store and Google Play rules on ads and disclosure, and label sponsor content clearly.
  • Load sponsor content from your server so you can change it without a new release when a takeover happens.
  • Never aim sponsors at kids. If your app is for children, the store rules on ads are much stricter.

Questions

Do the app stores allow this?

Both stores allow ads with rules on disclosure, placement and audience. Read the current guidelines before you add a spot.

Do I need to ship an update?

Only once, if you build the spot to load from your server. After that, swaps need no review.

Can I sell a push notification?

Only to users who opted in, and label it. Too many sponsor pushes and people will turn them off.

How do brands find my mobile app?

List it once. Brands browse spots by type, city and price and message you through SponsorMySpot. Your email stays private.

Who sets the price?

Our pricing engine, like a ride app. It prices each spot from what it is, how many people see it and the market you are in, and the price rises when brands are asking for that kind of spot near you. Owners pick how they bill: per week, month, event or post.

When do I get paid?

The brand pays when you accept their request. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up. Payouts go to your bank through Stripe. The fee is 8 percent.

Can brands bid against each other instead?

Yes. Run an auction: each spot opens at your start price and any brand can take it by paying double. Cards are held, not charged, until bidding closes.
