Advertise on my YouTube Shorts.

Shorts are fast, so the spots are small: the product in the first second, a pinned comment, a linked video, a text overlay. Pin them on a screenshot of one of your Shorts, get your prices, and let brands come to you.

How to monetize your YouTube Shorts

  1. List it. Upload a photo of your YouTube Shorts, mark each spot and pick how you bill: per week, month, event or post. We set the price from reach, market and demand.
  2. Get requests. Brands find it in Browse and message you. Accept or decline.
  3. Get paid. The brand pays when you accept. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up.
  4. Or run an auction. Share a link and let brands bid. Start a YouTube Shorts auction.

Get paid to put ads on your YouTube Shorts

Share links to each Short and a dated screenshot of the pinned comment. Add the Shorts analytics screen after a few days.

Tips

  • Tick 'includes paid promotion' on every sponsored Short, and put a quick 'ad' in the text or voice. People swipe before they read descriptions.
  • Sell packs of three. One Short is easy to miss, and a pack gives a small brand a fairer test.
  • Keep the product in your normal format. A Short that looks like an ad gets swiped, and the sponsor pays for nothing.

Questions

Can I put a link in a Short?

Clickable links in Shorts are limited. Use the pinned comment, a related video link or your channel links, and say which in the spot note.

How does this compare to Shorts ad revenue?

Shorts revenue is pooled and shared by YouTube with eligible channels. A sponsor pays you directly for one placement, eligible or not.

Should I price Shorts lower than long videos?

Usually, at least to start. Low start prices draw more bids, and takeovers double the price anyway.

How do brands find my YouTube Shorts?

List it once. Brands browse spots by type, city and price and message you through SponsorMySpot. Your email stays private.

Who sets the price?

Our pricing engine, like a ride app. It prices each spot from what it is, how many people see it and the market you are in, and the price rises when brands are asking for that kind of spot near you. Owners pick how they bill: per week, month, event or post.

When do I get paid?

The brand pays when you accept their request. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up. Payouts go to your bank through Stripe. The fee is 8 percent.

Can brands bid against each other instead?

Yes. Run an auction: each spot opens at your start price and any brand can take it by paying double. Cards are held, not charged, until bidding closes.
