Advertise on my indie game.

Indie games get played, streamed and wishlisted by people who care about games. A sponsor can own a spot on your store page art, your devlog or your credits. Screenshot it, pin the spots, get your price and list it.

How to monetize your indie game

  1. List it. Upload a photo of your indie game, mark each spot and pick how you bill: per week, month, event or post. We set the price from reach, market and demand.
  2. Get requests. Brands find it in Browse and message you. Accept or decline.
  3. Get paid. The brand pays when you accept. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up.
  4. Or run an auction. Share a link and let brands bid. Start a indie game auction.

Tips

  • Read the rules of the store you sell on, like Steam or itch.io, about logos and promotional content in store assets.
  • Credits and press kit spots are easy to add and do not change the game.
  • Check age ratings. If your game is rated for younger players, keep sponsors suitable.

Questions

Can I put a sponsor logo on my Steam capsule art?

Steam has rules about what goes on store art. Read them, and keep sponsors to places they allow.

What if the game ships later than planned?

Sell spots that exist now, like the devlog or press kit, rather than ones that depend on a release date.

Do players mind sponsors?

A quiet credit or badge rarely bothers anyone. Ads during play usually do.

How do brands find my indie game?

List it once. Brands browse spots by type, city and price and message you through SponsorMySpot. Your email stays private.

Who sets the price?

Our pricing engine, like a ride app. It prices each spot from what it is, how many people see it and the market you are in, and the price rises when brands are asking for that kind of spot near you. Owners pick how they bill: per week, month, event or post.

When do I get paid?

The brand pays when you accept their request. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up. Payouts go to your bank through Stripe. The fee is 8 percent.

Can brands bid against each other instead?

Yes. Run an auction: each spot opens at your start price and any brand can take it by paying double. Cards are held, not charged, until bidding closes.
