Tips
- A roadside sign or billboard needs zoning approval and often a permit. Highways may also fall under state rules for outdoor advertising. Check before you list.
- Keep signs out of the road right of way and clear of sight lines at intersections.
- Give the road name, the side and the direction of traffic the sign faces.
Questions
Can I put up a billboard on my land?
Only with zoning approval. Many areas limit new billboards, and roads near highways may have state rules too.
Who builds the sign?
Agree in writing. Often the sponsor pays for printing and you handle posts, within what your permit allows.
Does it affect farm use?
A small sign on a fence line rarely does. Ask your county if the land has farm tax status.
How do brands find my land?
List it once. Brands browse spots by type, city and price and message you through SponsorMySpot. Your email stays private.
Who sets the price?
Our pricing engine, like a ride app. It prices each spot from what it is, how many people see it and the market you are in, and the price rises when brands are asking for that kind of spot near you. Owners pick how they bill: per week, month, event or post.
When do I get paid?
The brand pays when you accept their request. You are paid after you post proof that the logo is up. Payouts go to your bank through Stripe. The fee is 8 percent.
Can brands bid against each other instead?
Yes. Run an auction: each spot opens at your start price and any brand can take it by paying double. Cards are held, not charged, until bidding closes.
